At the Biggest Morning Tea

Yesterday (25.05.08) was the 2nd annual Biggest Morning Tea, held at Kims place this year. Aunty Chris's illness has inspired her daughters and daughter in-law to start this tradition. Together they raised $3246.10 which will go towards the cancer council. You paid $5 entry and bought raffle tickets, they also had a lucky door prize. Here are some pictures of the day.

I'm going to see Phantom of the Opera tonight. It will be the 4th time I have seen it.

I've seen in Sydney last time it toured here, back in the 90's. I've also seen it on Broadway in New York and in Las Vegas whilst I was in the US in June 2006. Vegas version was awesome the chandilier was in 4 pieces at the start of the show and came together over your heads in the overture at the start of the show. I was lucky enough to have 5th row for that performance. The Vegas version is slightly different, it skips a couple of songs and has no interval, plus The Phantom and Raoul run up and down the aisle's as part of the show.
This Sydney version I'm going to see tonight has Anthony Warlow playing the part of the Phantom. I've seen him perform before a few times now (as himself in concert, as the Gardian Angel in Grease, with John Farnham and Olivia Newton John in the Main Event) but never as the Phantom.

Going to the Whitsundays!!

Upon checking out the weather for the Whitsundays region in Qld for next week I came across some reviews of the resort CJ and I are staying at. We are staying at Long Island Resort which is a 3.5 star resort. The reviews are 50/50. Some talk about ants in the room and the bad customer service by the rude staff. I go camping quite offen so the ants probably wont worry me if there are any. The resort is located on a island surrounded by beaches, they are going to be bugs people.
Alot of the reviews talk about the expense drinks on offer, epsecially the water that you have to buy as tape water on the Island is not safe. I'm not there to get plastered anyways. There is some good reviews, mainly by the Aussies. I've lowered my expectations now anyways, so I'm looking forward to a great trip of doing nothing in a hamock drink a cocktail or two!
